ALUMINIUM ENTRY BOARDS

ALU ENTRY BOARDS are made from a special aluminium alloy with a hard temper and are made specially for the PCB industry.

APPLICATION:

ALU entry boards are used as an entry board for the printed circuit board industry. It is a material specially produced for PCBs, with a clean, flat and hard surface that satisfies every demanding application.

PROPRETIES:

Due to the clean, flat and hard surface ALU entry boards provide exceptionally accurate drill entry and even at the highest drill speeds, the drills and the smallest holes are not damaged.

PAPER-PHENOLIC DRILLING BOARDS / BACK-UP BOARDS
COMPOSTITION:

PH-BOARD (paper-phenolic drilling boards / back-up boards), made of paper and phenolic resin.

APPLICATION:

The material is used as both an entry and a backing board during the drilling process in the manufacturing of PCBs.

Thinner PH-boards are used for routing and drilling, thicker PH-boards are used for back-up boards.

PROPRETIES:

Due to the high temperature resistance of the resin and the special combination of paper and resin, an exceptionally accurate drill entry and even at the highest drill speeds the drills and smaller holes are not damaged.

MELAMINE PAPER-PHENOLIC DRILLING BOARDS
COMPOSTITION:

MPH-BOARD (melamine paper-phenolic drilling boards), made from paper and phenolic resin covered with melamine foil on both sides.

APPLICATION:

The material is used for the most demanding drilling process in the manufacturing of PCBs.

PROPRETIES:

Due to the high temperature resistance of the resin and the special hard melamine foil material it provides an exceptionally accurate drill entry and even at the highest drill speeds and smallest holes, drills will not be damaged.

The flat surface of the material provides the perfect support for the copper clad panels preventing the build-up of burrs around the holes.

BACK UP BOARDS

 

WOODEN BACK-UP BOARDS

W-BACK UP (wooden back-up board), is made of compressed wood fibres with a smooth, glossy and hard surface.

APPLICATION:

The material is used as a back-up board in the manufacturing of PCBs.

PROPRETIES:

W-BACK UP BOARD offers excellent flatness and with the tightest thickness tolerances.

Uncoated drilling back-up board with a glossy, smooth surface.

Usable on both sides.

It has no phenolic resin, FHC, formaldehyde or hydrotropic additives.

The flat, hard but flexible surface ensures excellent cutting with almost any drilling tools.

MELAMINE WOODEN BACK-UP BOARDS

MW-BACK UP (melamine wooden back-up board), made from compressed wood fibres coated both sides with a special white composite foil, which provides material with a smooth, glossy and extra hard surface.

APPLICATION:

The material is used for the most demanding processes as a back-up board in the manufacturing of PCBs.

PROPRETIES:

MW-BACK UP BOARD offers a smooth, glossy, extra hard and high density surface, provides excellent cleaning properties and is ideal for any demanding process using the highest drill speeds, even when drilling the smallest holes.

Excellent flatness with very tight thickness tolerances.

Usable on both sides.

It has no phenolic resin, FHC, formaldehyde or hydrotropic additives.

The flat, hard but flexible surface ensures excellent cutting with almost any drilling tools. Suitable for all drill diameters.

ANODES

COMPOSTITION:

Copper phosphorus anodes (Cu-DHP)

APPLICATION:

Copper phosphorus anodes (Cu-DHP) and tin anodes (Sn) are used in the manufacturing of PCBs.

PROPRETIES:

Copper phosphorus anodes (Cu-DHP) consist of a min. 99,94 % of copper (the copper includes silver and phosphorous). The material is available in different shapes therefore it can satisfy different customer requirements.

Tin anodes (Sn) consist of min. 99,90 % of Sn. The material is available in a rolled or extruded form.

Solder bars and wires (SN100C, SN100CLe, SN100CLe+, Sn63Pb37), are different special alloys especially developed for soldering.

MATERIAL FOR SOLDERING MASK

COMPOSTITION:

CONTAVAL M AM is a laminate consisting of glass-mat, epoxy-resin with conductive additives and teflon. The material can withstand 300°C.

CONTAVAL 2576 GP is a laminate consisting of E-glass cloth, conductive additives and epoxy-resin. The material can withstand 280°C.

APPLICATION:

CONTAVAL M AM and CONTAVAL 2576 GP are used as soldering bath carriers for printed circuits, when sensitive components ask for ESD working conditions.

CONTAVAL 2576 GP has better mechanical properties than CONTAVAL M AM, because it is made from E-glass cloth and not from glass-mat, however, in general it can withstand fewer cycles.

CONTAVAL M AM also consist of teflon and therefore it is use for the most demanding soldering processes.

CONTAVAL M AM on average can handle between 8.000 – 20.000 cycles (1)

The number of cycles on CONTAVAL M AM can be extended if the surface is ground down by app. 0,50 – 1,00 mm. Grinding should be done using tools with a larger diameter and at a slower speed. This can cause the temperature to increase and the teflon in the material to melt, which can result in a kind of glazing (facing) on the material. With this facing, the life time of CONTAVAL M AM, can be further extended by 20 – 30 %.

CONTAVAL 2576 GP on average can handle between 7.000 – 15.000 cycles

Application in practice has shown that the life of a solder mask depends on various factors, from the diseing of the solder mask, fluxes, cycles of use, etc. Therefore the actual number of cycles could be different from those mentioned above.

PROPRETIES (BOTH MATERIALS):

CONTAVAL is antistatic, is suitable for using lead-free technology and it is suitable for exposure to red light.

CONTAVAL has excellent mechanical properties even at high temperatures and shows conductivity parallel and perpendicular to the layers necessary for ESD applications. The special epoxy resin used as well as the smooth unsanded surface result in high chemical and temperature resistance.

CONTAVAL can be easily cut and machined with diamond tipped tools and high speed machinery.
